Cleva legal
Privacy Policy
Effective September 7, 2026
This policy explains the information Cleva needs to help you review storage, spot duplicate media, and organize contacts or calendars. It is written for a cleaner app: the tools you choose determine which permissions and information are used.
1. Our approach
Cleva is designed to make clutter easier to review, not to take over your device. We ask for access only when you activate a feature that needs it. You can decline a permission, change it later in device settings, or remove the app; the related tool may then be unavailable.
2. Information used by cleanup tools
When you choose a cleanup or organizer feature, Cleva may read information made available through the permission you grant. Depending on the tool, this can include:
- Photos and videos: file size, format, creation date, visual similarity signals, and other details used to group potential duplicates, screenshots, large files, or similar media;
- Contacts: names, phone numbers, email addresses, and fields needed to suggest duplicate or incomplete entries;
- Calendars: event titles, dates, and related fields needed to identify duplicate or outdated reminders;
- Device and app details: operating-system version, device model, language, app version, selected settings, and diagnostic information needed to keep Cleva working reliably.
Permissions do not give Cleva unlimited access. The operating system controls the scope of available content, and you remain in control of the final decision to delete, merge, or keep an item.
3. On-device processing
Where a feature can work on your device, Cleva is intended to analyze the selected content locally. The app uses results such as a duplicate group, a storage estimate, or a suggested contact merge to present choices to you. Cleva does not use your personal photo library, contacts, or calendar to build advertising profiles.
4. Support, diagnostics, and analytics
If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. To improve reliability, Cleva may also process limited technical events such as app crashes, feature errors, screen flow, device category, and a pseudonymous installation identifier. These records are used to diagnose problems, understand which tools are useful, and improve the app experience.
5. Purchases and subscriptions
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by the applicable app marketplace. Cleva may receive a purchase status, product identifier, transaction reference, and entitlement information needed to unlock features or restore a purchase. We do not receive your full payment-card number or marketplace password.
6. When information may be shared
We may use service providers for essential operations such as hosting, customer support, crash reporting, analytics, or subscription validation. They may process only the information needed to provide their service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to protect rights or users, or as part of a corporate reorganization. We do not sell personal information or rent your photo, contact, or calendar data to advertisers.
7. Retention and deletion
Content managed only on your device follows your device and operating-system controls. Support messages, purchase records, and diagnostic events are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, operations, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. Deleting Cleva may remove local app data, but it does not cancel a marketplace subscription.
8. Your choices
You can control Cleva permissions through your device settings, review selections before applying a cleanup action, and manage subscriptions through the marketplace account that processed the purchase. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other action regarding personal information we hold.
9. Updates and contact
We may update this policy when Cleva changes or when requirements evolve. The latest version will be posted here with a revised effective date. For privacy questions, contact us through the Cleva support form and include “Privacy” in the subject.
